The Communications section of the Patrol Division is a vital part of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office that operates 24/7. All incoming calls, including calls for service, go through the communications personnel. These deputies are also responsible for radio dispatch information to Patrol and other Deputies in the field.
It is a difficult job that they do well and we appreciate their efforts.
Sergeant Teresa Johnson, a 25-year veteran of Uniform Patrol Communications, has been promoted to Lieutenant and supervises the section.
Corporal Deanna Smith, a 15-year veteran of Communications has been promoted to Sergeant and will serve as a shift supervisor.
Deputy Jessica Shavers, a 10-year veteran assigned Communications since 2016 has been promoted to Corporal, where she will serve as a Training Officer for new employees.
