UPDATE: OPSO Warrant Division deputies located the suspect, Ryan M. Gix, earlier today and arrested him on the warrant.
Ouachita Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported fight on Tanglewood Drive in Monroe during the evening of Jan. 6, 2015. The investigation determined that several subjects had been fighting in the street, identities of which were unknown at the time. During the fight, the victim attempted to stop the fighting by intervening and separating the people involved. While doing so, a suspect allegedly came up behind the victim and struck him in the back of the head. The victim was seriously injured and required hospitalization.
Testimony and evidence from the scene identified the alleged suspect as Ryan Marquez Gix, age 22, of Monroe. An arrest warrant has been issued for Gix (pictured below) on the charge of Aggravated Second Degree Battery.
