A joint investigation by members of the Ouachita Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, the La. State Police Special Victims Unit, and the FBI Crimes Against Children Task Force has resulted in the arrest of Everardo Perez Valencia, age 22, of West Monroe, La. The investigation stemmed from a cyber-tip received by Ouachita Sheriff’s Investigators from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the investigation, it was determined the suspect, Valencia, allegedly communicated with the juvenile victim via instant messaging and then met the victim for the purpose of having sexual relations. Additional charges are likely to be filed pending further investigation in both Ouachita and Union Parishes. Valencia has been booked at OCC on the charge of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor.
