We would like for everyone to join with us today wishing K-9 Igo the very best in his retirement. Igo, a dual purpose K-9 trained in both criminal apprehension and narcotics detection, joined OPSO in 2016. During his career, he has had numerous successful drug searches and tracking assignments, including 20+ criminal apprehensions. He also put on several K-9 demonstrations for school classes, day cares, Boy Scout troops and many other organizations. His handler, Deputy Jared Benjamin, says Igo is ready for his retirement. Igo plans to enjoy his favorite pastime playing fetch and to continue to visit his best friends at Cooper Veterinary Hospital and the ER nurses at Ochsner LSU Health. Thank you Igo for your service and we all wish you many happy years of retirement.
