The second OPSO Youth Summer Academy for ages 10-13 wrapped up with the graduation exercise Friday, July 29th. This is the last in the series of OPSO sponsored summer camps that are held each year. In addition to the Youth Academy, we offer a Teen Academy for ages 14-18 and a CSI Academy for ages 14-18. Cadets are taught the day-to-day functions of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with basic Law Enforcement functions such as investigative methods, patrol procedures, criminal law and other topics.
If you have a child that may be interested next summer, we post the registration information to each of them around the first week of May. Deputies look forward to sponsoring them again next year!
