On November 9th and 10th, 2022 Metro Narcotics of Ouachita Parish, in conjunction with other local law enforcement agencies, began a sweep operation in Ouachita Parish to serve eighty-five arrest warrants. The warrants stemmed from a several months long investigation into illegal narcotic activity and other criminal activity in Ouachita Parish.
Arrest teams located and arrested sixty on the warrant charges. While most of the warrants were drug related charges, nine were arrested on non-drug related charges.
A large quantity of illegal narcotics was seized during the operation, including Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Morphine, Crack Cocaine, Fentanyl, Heroin, Ecstasy and PCP. Nine handguns, one AK-47, one bolt action rifle and one shotgun were also seized as they were in possession of convicted felons.
Agencies participating in the operation were Metro Narcotics, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, Monroe Police Department, West Monroe Police Department, Louisiana State Police, 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Louisiana National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, Louisiana Attorney General Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Louisiana Probation and Parole, Homeland Security Investigations and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
