An investigation into recent thefts of delivered packages to residences in Ouachita Parish has led to the arrest of three suspects in unrelated theft cases.
Deputies investigating the theft of packages from a residence in the 100 block of Mila Drive in the Good Hope Road area reported December 7th have arrested Thomas Bradley Davidson. Davidson, driving a tan Jeep Liberty, was caught on surveillance cameras stealing the items and was located by Patrol Deputies on December 8th. Several stolen items were recovered from his vehicle. He has been booked into OCC on numerous charges, including 3 counts of Theft in connection to stolen packages.
In an unrelated theft investigation, Austin Adams and Courtney McCurdy have been arrested in connection with the theft of packages delivered to residences in the area of Pineridge and Pankey Road in West Monroe. OPSO was contacted on December 8th regarding the theft of a delivered package from the porch of a residence on Pineridge. Video camera surveillance caught Adams approaching the porch, taking the package and leaving in a tan Chevrolet Trailblazer. Both Adams and McCurdy have been booked into OCC on theft charges.
Numerous stolen items were recovered in each instance. The investigation into these and other recent thefts of packages is continuing. More arrests are expected.
This type of theft is becoming more and more popular throughout the country. Sheriff Jay Russell asks residents to track their purchases online so that they know the delivery date and take every precaution possible to be sure the items are secured upon delivery and not left visible on porches, etc. If you see any suspicious persons or vehicles in your neighborhood that is possibly involved in this type activity, report it to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office or your local law enforcement agency as soon as possible.
