Sheriff Jay Russell has announced the following promotions:
Sergeant Chris Wyles has been promoted to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Wyles is an 18-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and had previously served on the OPSO Special Crimes Apprehension Team (SCAT) as a Sergeant. He will now serve as the Lieutenant and will continue his assignment to SCAT.
Sergeant Brett Thompson has transferred to the Special Crimes and Apprehension Team. Sergeant Thompson is a 19-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He has previously worked in the Investigative Division before transferring back to Patrol. He will now serve as the Sergeant and first line supervisor of SCAT.
Deputy Richie Evans, a 7-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, has been promoted to Corporal. He will now serve as a training officer for new Patrol Deputies.
