Sheriff Jay Russell and Deputies are mourning the loss of one of their own, retired Captain Bazzle Perritt.  Captain Perritt passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022.

He began his career in 1970 supervising fleet maintenance, later transferring to Ouachita Correctional Center Security and Court Support, before returning to OCC until he retired in 2000.

Those of us who worked with Bazzle through the years remember him as a kind, honest person, always willing to do whatever was necessary to get the job done.  He was never too busy to help anyone that needed his assistance and had many friends.  He will be missed by all of us.  Please keep his family, friends and Deputies in your prayers during this time.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 20th at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 219 Crowell Road in Eros, LA.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Monday, February 21st at the church.
